Data Storage Problems

Some SQL problems are related not to the execution plan, but to the way Oracle is storing the data.

• Do you have a table where UPDATEs significantly change the length of a row? Or have you recently performed a major UPDATE on a table (perhaps to populate a new column)?
• Do you have a small table that once was large?
• Do you have a indexed column that is frequently updated?
• Do you have a hash cluster that is bigger than it needs to be?
